Guest Rules & Visitor Policies

Rooterville is the animals’ home. We ask all guests to treat them—and the sanctuary—with care, kindness, and respect.

General Behavior Guidelines

• No smoking inside or near the sanctuary gates.
• Do not let children chase, scream at, or pick up animals—especially our small dog with a sensitive back and tummy. (Gift shop cookies are okay!)
• Children must be supervised at all times.
• No kids under 10 on the pond deck unless accompanied by an adult. There is no railing on the deck.
• Older kids and adults are not allowed in the bounce houses—they’re for small children only (weather dependent).
• Please avoid loud or disruptive behavior near animals.
• Bounce, play, and laugh in the play areas—just be respectful near the animals and other guests.
• Do not tease, feed, or harass animals. Anyone doing so will be asked to leave with no refund.
• We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items. Lost items? Contact us—we have a lost & found.
• Dress modestly. Rooterville is a family-friendly space. Foul or offensive language will not be tolerated.
• Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes for safety—especially for kids. Flip flops and shorts are discouraged.
• Please do not go near the wagons or farmhouse unless invited—guests may be staying there. Ask us if you'd like to see them.

Photography & Social Etiquette

• Tag us in your photos: @rootervillesanctuary
• No professional photography or sale of photos without permission
• No obscene or inappropriate clothing or language

Booking Guidelines

Rooterville relies on visitor bookings to care for our animals. Your experience matters—and so does your support. Please notify us early if you need to cancel or reschedule.

• If online booking shows no availability, call or text us at (386) 662-4930 — we often still have spots open!
• Covered wagon, farmhouse, and wedding bookings require a $500 non-refundable deposit.
• Experiences and general admission can be booked online.

Cancellation Policies

In most cases, your non-refundable amount becomes a tax-deductible donation that supports animal care.

Admission Tickets

• Non-refundable (except for bad weather)
• One reschedule is allowed

Animal Experiences

• 100% refund: Cancel 6 or more days before scheduled date
• 50% refund: Cancel 4–5 days prior
• No refund: Cancel less than 3 days before
• Rescheduling is free once; 10% fee for additional changes
• Weather-related changes: No penalty
• Reschedules require at least 24 hours' notice

Tent Camping

• 100% refund: Cancel 6+ days prior
• 50% refund: Cancel 4–5 days prior
• No refund: Cancel within 3 days
• Reschedulable or refundable in case of rain

Note: No showers available; restrooms with hot water and sinks are open 24/7.

RV Camping

• 100% refund: Cancel 6+ days prior
• 50% refund: Cancel 4–5 days prior
• No refund: Cancel within 3 days
• Fully refundable/reschedulable for severe weather only
• Late arrivals without prior approval must boondock outside the gate (do not block driveway)

Covered Wagon & Farmhouse Stays

• 100% refund: Cancel 6+ days prior
• 50% refund: Cancel 4–5 days prior
• No refund: Cancel within 3 days (cleaning fees and taxes are refundable)
• In case of cancellation, your rental becomes a tax-deductible donation

Weather-Related Cancellations

• Hurricanes or severe weather: Full refund or reschedule for all stays and experiences
• Rain: Tent stays and experiences can be canceled or rescheduled. Covered wagon, farmhouse, and RV stays will not be refunded due to rain, especially on holidays

We will not share or sell subscriber information with 3rd parties for their direct marketing purposes.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
