Rooterville is open to the public for self-guided tours every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am - 2 pm. The recommended donation for your visit is only $15 per person, or $45 per family of four. If you cannot afford that, we still want you to come!

All donations and purchases at our gift shop go directly toward helping the animals you meet! Our gift shop is full of beautiful, fun and unusual things so don't forget to bring your wallet!  Every dollar you spend with us helps the animals you'll meet during your visit!

We welcome people of all ages from Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Middleburg, Orange Park, Flemming Island, Gainesville, Orlando and MORE to visit our kid-friendly facility. Expect to have the experience of a lifetime interacting with our sweet animal ambassadors.

Please keep in mind, we are a functioning animal sanctuary.  We are not here to entertain you and we are not a "petting zoo".  We are inviting you to experience farm animals in an environment that meets their needs and lets them live the lives they deserve to live. Visiting is a PRIVILEGE, we are inviting you into our home.  Please conduct yourself accordingly.

Dress appropriately!  You will likely get dirty.  We have plenty of hand washing stations to help keep your hands clean, please use them.  There are animals roaming the property so there will be poop, it's life. Watch where you're walking and please wear boots or closed-toe shoes. Sandals are not appropriate.

This is the animals' home!  That means:  Respect the animal's space.  If an animal moves away from you, leave it alone. Children are to be under control and supervised at ALL times. You will be around large animals, you must be mindful of where your kids are and how they are behaving around the animals. Yelling, screaming, running, or acting in any other manner than calm, slow, quiet, and gentle around the animals will not be tolerated. Be kind, be gentle, and be quiet around the animals. Enjoy watching them as they go about their day.

Big pigs love back scratches and small pigs love belly rubs.  Hair standing up usually means that they are enjoying what you are doing and they may fall over for a belly rub! Don't reach for an animal's face, they may think you're handing them a snack and bite your fingers. Ouch!

Feeding of animals is allowed only in designated areas.  We wish you could feed them all, that would be amazing! You likely only brought a few snacks so to keep you safe. Please ask us where you can feed the animals.

Best snacks to bring:  Baby carrots, sliced apples, strawberries, grapes, bananas and etc. Small things you can hand feed. Tinsel the cow just absolutely loves bananas!

Our animals are our greatest ambassadors here at Rooterville! Rooterville residents are happy, fun to be around, and quickly show all of our visitors that they have individual personalities and feelings exactly like more common pets such as dogs and cats. In fact, pigs outrank dogs on the intelligence scale! They are the most intelligent domesticated animal and have learned to play video games faster than chimpanzees!  The best way to understand this is to meet them all for yourself. It’s an experience that you and your family will treasure for a lifetime.

If you appreciate the work we are doing, please consider becoming a monthly donor (GEM) as you get special privileges, like visiting whenever you want! It's a great feeling to be a part of something that is helping make this world a better place for all of us.

If you fall in love with a special animal, ask about adopting them! (virtually of course!) We'd be honored to have your support! We look forward to meeting you!
